Inspiring Individuality

Design Options

Shape:

Traditionally, gypsy wagons were either  Ledge wagons or Reading, the sloped sided ones.  Both have their advantages and individuality.  We've also built a couple with straight sides.

Axles:

This is a really important consideration!  If you plan to tow your caravan around like a camper, it has to have only one axle.  However, once you park a single axle caravan, you need to support the corners for stability, and it's a little harder to move around by hand.

The two axle caravan is perfect when you plan to keep it in one location. It's very stable, and it's quite easy to move around on your property. Surprisingly, on flat ground one person can usually push or pull it.

Windows, Doors:

We used to find old wood-framed windows with multiple panes - they are so  much more in keeping with the look of a caravan.

As of 2016:  I am lucky to live in an area rich in talent and small business.  As a result, I have sourced local carpenters who make beautiful pine windows and doors.  Now I have the best of both worlds: old style windows AND fresh new wood.

Colour and Detail:

You can leave your caravan a natural wood colour, but painting the walls and the trim is so much fun!

Usually, our painting stops with the base colours, as in the pictures above. We send the caravan to you for the REALLY fun part: adding decorative detail.  There's no end to the possibilities!
